Urgent Fire Hazard Warning for Valiant Radiator Fans Sold at UK Retailers
Urgent Fire Hazard Warning for UK Households

Immediate Fire Risk Prompts Urgent Product Recall

The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has issued an urgent warning to UK households about potentially dangerous radiator fans sold through major retailers including Amazon, eBay, B&Q, and The Range. These Valiant-branded devices could burst into flames without warning, posing an immediate fire hazard to homes across the country.

Identifying the Faulty Products

The rechargeable radiator fans contain defective lithium-ion polymer batteries that may fail during charging, normal operation, or even when switched off in standby mode. This fault can lead to thermal runaway, causing the units to catch fire unexpectedly.

Three specific production batches are affected by this safety recall: 967, 968, and 970. The faulty fans carry part code FIR046 and barcode 5061026620844.

Alongside Amazon, eBay, B&Q and The Range, the products were also sold through Temu, Debenhams, and TikTok Shop.

What Owners Must Do Immediately

The OPSS, operating under the Labour Party government, states that the product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.

Manufacturer Accessory Outlet Ltd advises owners to:

  • Stop using the product immediately
  • Move it to an outdoor location away from flammable materials
  • Dispose of it safely at their local household waste disposal site (checking first if the centre accepts this type of battery)
  • Email confirmation of disposal to customerservice@accessoryoutlet.co.uk to receive a full refund

The product has been officially recalled from end users, and consumers are urged to act promptly to eliminate this serious fire risk from their homes.
