For years, their faces have stared out from the West Midlands Police website, viewed by the public tens of thousands of times. Yet despite numerous appeals, these four men remain elusive, earning them the dubious honour of being the force's longest-serving entries on its public most wanted list.
The Faces That Have Evaded Capture
The gallery, a crucial tool for detectives, relies on public tip-offs to locate suspects and increase pressure on criminals to surrender. While many are found, the hunt for this particular quartet has, so far, drawn a blank. Their alleged offences are serious, ranging from breaches of court orders to an attempted murder.
Sayed Hersi holds the record as the longest-standing name on the list. An appeal to find him was first launched in June 2020, over five years ago. Hersi, now believed to be 46 or 47, is wanted for breach of a court order. His mugshot alone has been viewed more than 137,000 times, but his whereabouts remain a complete mystery to officers.
Suspects Wanted for Serious Crimes
Dann Hudson, 33, from Shirley, has also been evading police for five years. He is wanted on recall to prison after breaching his licence conditions. These conditions were originally imposed in relation to a wounding offence.
Neil Harrison disappeared after failing to attend court in early 2021. He was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and breach of a court order. His case remains unresolved as he continues to avoid authorities.
The most serious allegation among the group is linked to Ajay Soni. He has been wanted since November 2021 in connection with an alleged attempted murder in Digbeth. The incident, which occurred on May 7 of that year, saw three men attacked. Soni is from the Harborne area.
How the Public Can Help
West Midlands Police continue to urge anyone with information on any of these men to come forward. The force has reiterated its standard appeal channels, which are:
- Using the Live Chat function on the West Midlands Police website (available 8am to midnight).
- Calling 101 at any time.
- Contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers completely anonymously on 0800 555 111.
For information on Ajay Soni, the public should quote crime reference number 20/413395/21. Despite the passage of time, detectives stress that any detail, no matter how small it may seem, could be vital in finally locating these long-sought individuals.
