West Midlands Police have charged a 31-year-old woman following reports of a woman being chased with a knife on a Birmingham street. Kiya McKenzie, from Selly Oak, was charged with possession of a bladed article and is due to appear in court in October.
Officers from the force's Skybridge team were deployed to Rotton Park Road after receiving a call on Saturday morning reporting that a woman was being chased by another woman with a knife. Upon arrival, officers found a woman at the scene and subsequently recovered a knife during searches.
Arrest and Charge
Following the incident, the 31-year-old woman was arrested and later charged with possession of a bladed article. The police statement confirmed: "A woman has been charged we received reports of a woman being chased by a person with a knife."
The statement continued: "We received a call yesterday morning (Saturday) reporting that a woman was being chased by another woman with a knife. Our Skybridge team attended Rotton Park Road, where we found a woman and following searches, officers recovered a knife."
Court Appearance Scheduled
Kiya McKenzie, from Selly Oak, will appear before magistrates on 1 October. The charge relates to the possession of a bladed article, a serious offence under UK law.
