Police are investigating a reported sexual assault on a woman after video footage appearing to show the incident was posted online. The incident occurred inside a convenience store on Solihull Lane in Hall Green, Birmingham.
Details of the Incident
In the footage, which has been seen by BirminghamLive, a woman is seen walking past a man inside the shop. The man was reaching into a refrigerated unit at the side of an aisle. He then reached out and appeared to touch the woman's bottom.
The woman approached the man, who started to walk away. She remonstrated with him, and he turned around and stopped inside the shop, appearing to argue back. The incident took place at around 8.30pm on Monday, June 8.
Police Investigation
West Midlands Police confirmed they are investigating the incident. A spokesperson said: “We are investigating after a woman reported being sexually assaulted inside a shop on Solihull Lane, Hall Green, around 8.30pm on Monday. Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the details and identify the person involved. Police are appealing for help to identify the suspect and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The investigation is ongoing.
