A woman and a man sustained serious injuries after their registered XL Bully dog attacked them inside their home in Bedworth, Warwickshire, on Saturday evening, police have confirmed.
Emergency Response
Emergency services received a 999 call reporting the attack at a property on Acacia Crescent at 7:10pm on May 3. Officers from Warwickshire Police attended the scene and found the two victims with serious injuries.
The woman, believed to be in her 30s and identified as the dog's owner, and the man were both taken to hospital for treatment. Trained police staff secured the animal and removed it from the area.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: 'At 7:10pm we were called out to a report of a dog attack on Acacia Crescent in Bedworth. The owner, a woman in her 30s, and a man have sustained serious injuries after their registered XL Bully dog attacked them inside their home. Both have been taken to hospital for treatment. The dog has been secured by trained officers and removed from the area. There is no risk to the public.'
The incident is the latest in a series of attacks involving XL Bully dogs, which have been subject to increased regulations in the UK. Police have confirmed that the dog was registered, and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
