Daniel Byrne, a man from Yardley, has been on the run from West Midlands Police for more than three years after he failed to appear in court on a serious assault charge. The 39-year-old was charged with the offense but skipped his court hearing, prompting an appeal for information that was launched in February 2023.

Byrne remains one of the longest-serving members of the force's most wanted list. His mugshot has been viewed nearly 55,000 times on the West Midlands Police website. Despite the widespread attention, his whereabouts remain unknown.

Police believe Byrne may have gone to ground elsewhere in the UK or fled abroad. They also suspect he may have altered his appearance to avoid detection. His alleged victim has never seen justice, and detectives are baffled by his disappearance.
