A Birmingham man charged with a violent attack has been on the run from police for more than three years. Daniel Byrne, from Yardley, failed to appear in court after being accused of a serious assault and has not been seen since.
Police appeal for information
West Midlands Police launched an appeal to find Byrne in February 2023, but his whereabouts remain unknown. Officers believe he may have changed his appearance or fled abroad to avoid capture. His mugshot remains on the force's most wanted list and has been viewed nearly 55,000 times.
Unsolved case
The alleged victim has not seen justice, as Byrne, now aged 39 or 40, has evaded police for years. The force urges anyone with information to contact them via Live Chat or call 101, quoting 20CV/182151A/19. Anonymous tips can be given to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
