A 16-inch zombie knife has been recovered by West Midlands Police after a suspicious man was spotted in Birmingham. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 15 November, when officers from the force's Task Force team were on patrol in the city centre.

At around 11:30 am, officers noticed a man acting suspiciously on High Street. When they approached him, he attempted to flee but was quickly detained. A search of the man led to the discovery of the large bladed weapon, which is classified as a zombie knife due to its distinctive shape and serrated edge.

Arrest and Charges

The 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and remains in police custody for questioning. The knife has been seized and will be forensically examined.

Inspector Steve Brown, from the Task Force team, said: "This is a fantastic result for our officers who were vigilant and acted swiftly to take a dangerous weapon off the streets. Zombie knives have no place in our society, and we are committed to removing them from circulation."
