Thousands of state pensioners in Scotland are set to receive Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) payments on Monday, despite a bank holiday. Payments worth £965 for new, full state pensioners and £740 for older state pensioners are being issued as previously scheduled.
Payment Confirmation
Social Security Scotland confirmed that payments are not affected by the bank holiday. They stated: "Our phonelines and webchat will be closed on Monday 15 June. They will reopen at 8am on Tuesday 16 June. Payments are not affected. People due a payment on Monday 15 June should usually receive it by the end of the day."
Bank Holiday Context
The update comes after King Charles approved a bank holiday to mark the World Cup. Social Security Scotland added that people can still apply for benefits online at any time and find answers to most questions on their website.
