A Willenhall takeaway restaurant has had its licence revoked after two illegal workers were found at the premises. Immigration enforcement officers visited Pizza Pan on Walsall Road in August 2025, where they arrested two female Indian nationals whose student visas had lapsed.
Fine and Licence Review
Naseem Mohammed, who employed the pair, was fined £45,000. The breach prompted a review of the late night refreshment licence on grounds of preventing crime and disorder. The Home Office and West Midlands Police called on Walsall Council's licensing and safety committee to revoke the licence at a meeting on 12 June.
Committee Decision
Tara Tumber, a legal representative for the authority, stated: "Employing a person who is disqualified from working by reason of their immigration status in the UK is treated as particularly serious. The committee is not satisfied that the premises licence holder has demonstrated that they will actively promote the licensing objectives, particularly the prevention of crime and disorder, given the seriousness of the offence involved in the employment of illegal workers. The committee considers that the revocation of the licence is necessary and proportionate to uphold the licensing objectives."
