Chocolate giant Cadbury has crafted a spectacular edible trophy to honour Birmingham's Karen Carney following her victory on BBC Strictly Come Dancing 2025.
A Sweet Tribute to a Brummie Champion
The legendary chocolatiers at the Bournville site used their renowned skills to create a bespoke, hand-crafted chocolate glitterball. This unique centrepiece was designed to celebrate the Solihull-born sporting star's historic win alongside her professional dance partner, Carlos Gu.
The pair triumphed in Saturday night's epic final, beating fellow finalists content creator George Clarke and West End performer Amber Davies. Cadbury's creation, which combines their classic chocolate with a shimmering finish, is seen as a symbol of local pride for the city.
Public Display at Cadbury World
The delicious trophy was put on public display over the weekend in the Chocolate Making Zone at Cadbury World, where it was admired by hundreds of visitors. The gesture highlights the deep connection between the iconic Birmingham-based brand and the community's heroes.
Since lifting the glitterball trophy, Karen Carney has expressed her profound gratitude. In a video message, she stated: "Hi everybody. Just wanted to say thank you to everybody that voted for both me and Carlos. You've made our dreams come true and thank you for bringing so much joy into our lives, and I hope that we brought joy to you."
A Memorable Victory Celebrated in Style
She emphasised that the "support [from the public] has meant the world," adding that she and Carlos "can’t thank" fans and viewers enough. Cadbury's sweet surprise adds another unforgettable layer to a victory that the former footballer is unlikely to ever forget, cementing her status as a true Brummie legend.
