Jessie J has confirmed that she and Chanan Colman have ended their romantic relationship after nearly five years together. The singer shared the news in a heartfelt statement on Instagram, describing the decision as "sad and difficult" but emphasising their commitment to co-parenting their son Sky.
Relationship timeline
Jessie J and Chanan Safir Colman began dating in 2021 after meeting on the celebrity dating app Raya. They made their relationship public in 2023, the same year they welcomed their son Sky. The couple often shared glimpses of parenthood on social media, and Chanan was a constant support during Jessie's battle with breast cancer.
Statement on Instagram
Taking to Instagram, Jessie wrote: "Chanan and I decided to end our romantic relationship some time ago, it has been a sad and difficult situation, but we have been focused on navigating the change privately and positively for a healthy and happy co parenting environment for our son, and ourselves." She added that being in the public eye made it easier to share the truth directly rather than allowing rumours to circulate.
The singer continued: "We will always continue supporting each other with love, respect and care as friends and most importantly being Skys Mum and Dad, so if you see us out and about together as a family, or posting each other on socials every now and again. That’s exactly what we are doing. Raising and loving Sky together, supported with a positive friendship."
Previous declarations of love
In 2023, Jessie had shared a sweet tribute to Chanan, describing him as a "beam of light" who helped her through a miscarriage in 2021. She wrote: "I met this man weeks after my miscarriage in 2021. Like a beam of light. He lit up my dark days. It was a whirl wind love and a miracle that we fell pregnant naturally... He has given me many of the best gifts of my life."
