Persimmon Homes has donated £1,000 to a 12-year-old racing talent in Somerset, helping to fuel his journey in competitive karting.
Community Champions Donation
The South West branch of the housebuilder presented the cheque to Lucas Carter from Chard as part of its Community Champions programme. The funds will go towards supporting his racing ambitions, which have already seen him secure a notable victory.
Lucas recently claimed first place in the Cadet Group B class at the Club100 Academy 2 Lightweight event at Whilton Mill in February, setting the fastest lap time of 1:03.977. The Club100 series is widely regarded as the toughest and most respected rental karting series in the UK, offering what is described as the 'highest level of Arrive and Drive 2 stroke karting in Europe'.
Persimmon's Community Commitment
Persimmon Homes donates £700,000 annually to good causes and valued organisations across Britain through its Community Champions scheme. Recent local recipients include Children's Hospice South West, South West Blood Bikes, and Ilminster Town Council.
The accredited five-star builder is currently progressing its planning application to bring 237 high-quality, new homes to the south of Chard.
