Adam Peaty's Wedding Ban Sparks Family Crisis Amid Years of Turmoil
Adam Peaty's Mother Banned From Wedding Amid Family Feud

Olympic swimming champion Adam Peaty finds himself at the centre of a deepening family crisis just weeks before his highly anticipated Christmas Day wedding to Holly Ramsay, with his mother Caroline reportedly banned from attending the ceremony at Bath Abbey.

Wedding Ban Sparks Family Rift

The Peaty family turmoil escalated when Caroline Peaty was conspicuously absent from Holly Ramsay's glamorous hen do at Soho Farmhouse, with tensions reaching breaking point over her alleged exclusion from the main event. The situation has left Caroline heartbroken according to family sources, with the wedding scheduled for December 25th 2025.

Adam's aunt, Louise Williams, publicly confronted the couple on social media, writing directly to Holly: "I expected better of you and definitely of Adam. You have inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever."

In a surprising twist, Louise claimed the wedding ban resulted from Caroline's failure to apologise for missing a family trip to Bath due to train cancellations. More distressingly, the gold medallist has reportedly forbidden his mother from seeing her grandson George, adding another layer to the complex family dynamics.

The guest list from Adam's side appears severely limited, with his sister Bethany likely to be the only family member present as many invitees couldn't cover accommodation and travel costs for the Christmas wedding.

Brotherly Conflict Turns Criminal

The wedding controversy represents just the latest chapter in the Peaty family's troubled history. Adam's relationship with his brother Jamie has been particularly volatile, with their fallout beginning in 2021 after Adam published his autobiography detailing Jamie's personal struggles with substance misuse.

Although the brothers had reconciled enough for Jamie to be scheduled as a groomsman, their relationship deteriorated again in June 2025 during a building project. The situation reached crisis point when James was arrested on November 11th, 2025 on suspicion of harassment after allegedly sending threatening messages during Adam's stag weekend in Budapest.

Staffordshire Police confirmed: "We arrested a 34-year-old man, from the Uttoxeter area, on November 11th, 2025, on suspicion of harassment. The man was released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue."

The brothers' father Mark Peaty spoke out for the first time, telling The Sun: "They're brothers, they've always been close, but like any normal family, brothers fight, argue, fall out, makeup and start all over again. But it's got out of hand, there's been very little empathy towards Jamie's genuine mental health difficulties."

Personal Struggles and Previous Relationships

Adam's personal life has been marked by significant challenges beyond his current family rift. On New Year's Eve 2022, he described the previous twelve months as the "toughest" of his life, openly addressing his mental health struggles in a candid social media post.

The swimmer revealed: "I wasn't going to say anything, but 2022 was the toughest year of my life so far. Mentally and physically, it has pushed me every day, and from injury to personal issues, it has forced me to grow."

This wasn't his first battle with personal demons. Following his defeat in the 50m race at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, Adam experienced what he described as his "deepest low", turning to alcohol and partying while struggling with self-doubt.

Before his relationship with Holly Ramsay, Adam shared three years with Welsh artist Eirianned Munro, with whom he has a five-year-old son, George. The couple separated in August 2022, with Eirianned later revealing that Adam's stint on Strictly Come Dancing marked "the beginning of the end" for their romance.

Despite the current tensions, Eirianned has spoken positively about Holly, describing her as "nothing but a positive presence in our lives" and "so gentle and kind, I couldn't wish for a better stepmother for my son."

Tragic Family Loss

The Peaty family has also endured profound personal tragedy. On August 23rd, 2025, Caroline Peaty marked the first anniversary of her grandson Joshua's passing, sharing poignant images of tiny handprints and footprints on Instagram.

She wrote emotionally: "Today is the first anniversary of the passing of our grandson Joshua x I held you in my arms and felt enormous love, but also tremendous loss of what could have been x We never got to know you, but we loved you even before you were born x."

As the wedding approaches, the family faces the prospect of celebrating Adam and Holly's union without resolution to these deep-seated conflicts, leaving questions about whether the Olympic champion can navigate these turbulent personal waters while preparing for his special day.
