Olympic champion Adam Peaty's mother, Caroline Peaty, has reportedly been banned from attending her son's upcoming wedding to Holly Ramsay, but has still purchased a gift for the couple in a poignant gesture of love and hope for reconciliation.

A Mother's Heartache and Hope

Despite the heartbreak of being excluded from the ceremony, Caroline Peaty, 59, from Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, has selected a present from the couple's wedding registry. She told Mail Online, "It's a decent present," and also plans to send a card, though she admitted, "I don't know if they will even open it."

With the wedding set for 27 December, Caroline has not given up hope that her son might change his mind. "If he changed his mind, I would go. I want to go to Bath, to go into the abbey, to watch him get married. I love him, he's still my little boy," the former nursery manager expressed.

The Lavish Wedding and Growing Family Rift

The high-profile couple are set to tie the knot in a lavish ceremony at the historic Bath Abbey. The celebrations will then move to Kin House, a Georgian estate in the Wiltshire countryside, for the reception.

However, the situation has grown increasingly complex since the engagement was announced in September 2024. The rift became public when Caroline was notably absent from Holly's hen party at the exclusive Soho Farmhouse.

The family dispute escalated further when Caroline's sister, Louise Williams, publicly criticised 25-year-old Holly on social media, stating she had "inflicted a hurt on my sister that will take a very long time to heal if ever."

Wider Family Fallout and Financial Concerns

It is now understood that Adam's sister Bethany will be the only family member from his side present at the ceremony. Beyond Caroline's exclusion, other relatives have reportedly struggled with the costs associated with the wedding.

One family member revealed to The Sun that the accommodation and travel expenses for the country house venues were prohibitive, saying, "I'm on Universal Credit - I can't afford that."

Relatives have also alleged that Adam, 30, feels "ashamed" of his working-class roots and has been "changed by money, fame and fortune." One source commented, "He seems to have forgotten where he came from."

Adam's aunt Louise revealed that Caroline discovered she had been cut from the guest list while looking after her five-year-old grandson, George, and was forced to hide her profound feelings of "hurt and betrayal" from the child.
