Alex Scott Leaves I'm A Celeb to Support Jess Glynne After Family Tragedy
Alex Scott exits jungle early to support partner Jess Glynne

Former football star Alex Scott has made an early departure from Australia after being evicted from I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, cutting short the usual post-show activities to return home to her partner, singer Jess Glynne, during a family crisis.

Emergency Exit From Australia

Unlike most eliminated campmates who remain in Australia until the series wrap party, Scott insisted on leaving immediately. The former Lioness revealed she needed 'to get home straight away' to support Glynne, whose mother had suffered a major stroke requiring urgent brain surgery.

Scott emotionally stated: "I want to be there for the wrap party but I need to get home straight away. She is my Jessica - I am going to go home and be her rock."

The Difficult Decision to Enter Jungle

The sports presenter had previously considered pulling out of the ITV reality show before even travelling to Australia due to the ongoing family situation. Scott described it as 'a tough time for us and obviously her family' and acknowledged it was a difficult decision to participate.

She credited Glynne with encouraging her to take the opportunity, saying: "It was a big decision for me to not pass this opportunity, and Jess was the one that pushed me to be here." Scott had been aware that there was "always a possibility of her not being across the bridge" if Glynne's mother's condition worsened.

Jungle Agony and Emotional Reunion

Scott described the emotional challenge of being in the jungle while worrying about the situation back home. 'Being in the jungle and not knowing how Jess, or her mum, was doing was agony', she confessed, noting that she found it particularly tough being unable to check in daily.

Upon her jungle exit, Scott was greeted by close friend Regan Coleman rather than Glynne, prompting an immediate need to contact her partner. "My first thought when I didn't see Jess on the bridge was that I needed to FaceTime and speak to her," Scott recalled, describing their subsequent conversation as "an emotional moment."

In a social media post, Scott reflected on her jungle experience as "the most incredible, special experience" while expressing gratitude to ITV for facilitating her swift return. She acknowledged the public support, saying: "We have both seen all the love and support and it means the world."

Scott concluded with heartfelt appreciation for her early return, stating: "The universe spoke and it's getting me home ASAP and I couldn't be more grateful for that."
