I'm A Celeb's Angry Ginge Reveals Surprising Pre-Fame Job as a Dinner Lady
Angry Ginge's surprising job before I'm A Celeb fame

The nation's favourite jungle newcomer, Angry Ginge, has revealed the remarkably ordinary job he held before finding fame as a social media sensation and entering the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! camp.

From School Dinners to Social Media Stardom

While now known to millions for his witty online content and budding jungle bromance with rapper Aitch, Ginge – whose real name is Morgan – once had a far more conventional role. Speaking on The Fellas podcast, the star disclosed that he worked as a 'dinner lady' at his local primary school for a year.

He described his duties, saying he would walk in, clear the trays, box them up for cleaning, and then head outside to play football with the children. Ginge noted he had to mind his language but believes he was good at the job.

A Change of Career Paths

This revelation comes after Ginge explained that his career ambitions initially lay elsewhere. He had wanted to join the police force and was completing a uniformed public services course at college. However, he was put off by "the riots", stating that seeing police officers "getting battered" made him reconsider.

After a brief return to college to study sports, he ultimately took up the dinner lady position, while beginning to stream on platforms like Twitch and TikTok on the side. His big break came when he started going live on both platforms simultaneously, rapidly growing his audience.

The Rise of a New Generation Celebrity

Ginge's journey mirrors that of other modern celebrities, forged not through traditional media but via social platforms. He began streaming in 2020, amassed a huge following by 2021, and made it his full-time job in January 2022.

His success led to collaborations with major brands like Footasylum and YouTube supergroup The Sidemen. He is also a member of the YouTube collective The Bov Boys, which boasts 292,000 subscribers.

His stint in the jungle has introduced him to a massive new audience, captivated by his friendship with Ruby Wax and his dynamic with Aitch. Reports suggest his appearance on the ITV show could net him a £100,000 fee, with predictions of lucrative brand deals awaiting him after the series concludes.
