Time is rapidly running out for an unknown lottery millionaire in Birmingham to come forward and claim a life-changing £1 million prize.
The Search for the Missing Millionaire
Despite an extensive search campaign by The National Lottery, the holder of the winning ticket from the Lotto draw on 24 May 2025 has yet to be found. The ticket, bought in Birmingham, matched the five main numbers 9, 12, 13, 26, 38, and 40, plus the Bonus Ball, which was 4.
The National Lottery even took to the streets of Birmingham at the end of October in a desperate attempt to track down the winner, but the search has so far been unsuccessful.
A Final Warning and Deadline
The ticket holder has a firm deadline of midnight on Thursday, 20 November 2025 to claim their fortune. Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, the operator of The National Lottery, issued a final plea.
"We have not yet given up hope that our lucky winner will come forward at the last hour but time is ticking," Carter said. "If you are a Lotto regular, played in the 24 May draw and have any old tickets in the bottom of bags, rarely worn coat pockets – check! We would so love to unite the winner with this life-changing sum."
The Fate of the Unclaimed Fortune
If no one comes forward before the deadline, the consequences are significant. The £1 million prize, plus all the interest it has generated, will not go to the ticketholder. Instead, the money will be allocated to support National Lottery-funded projects across the United Kingdom.
In an astonishing twist, Birmingham is home to a second missing millionaire. Another unclaimed prize, this time a EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker prize from the draw on 15 August 2025, is also waiting to be collected. The lucky holder of that ticket has until 11 February 2026 to claim it, and should look for the winning code VLPL 28287.
