Childminder reveals the 5-word phrase that makes her 'want to scream'
Childminder's pet peeve phrase makes her want to scream

A childminder has revealed the five-word phrase that makes her 'want to scream' every time she hears it. Taking to Mumsnet to vent, she said that while out with the children, strangers constantly tell her 'you've got your hands full'. The childminder, who looks after four two-year-olds, admitted it is 'SO hard to react with a smile sometimes' but manages to remain polite.

She asked others to share the irritating phrases they regularly hear at work. A shop worker replied that customers often say 'Does this mean it's free?' when an item lacks a barcode. Another person said being asked 'Have you got a minute to hop on a call?' is annoying, adding 'I'm too old to hop'. A cleaning manager expressed frustration with 'you missed a bit', while another worker hates 'teamwork makes the dream work' because some team members don't pull their weight.

'Thanks for reaching out' also drew criticism, with one person saying 'I didn't. Reaching for you would imply I want to instigate physical contact.' Another commented on the phrase 'lifting and shifting' used during a merger, noting it is overused by people who have never done physical labor.
