Thirteen people were inside a car repair unit in Winson Green when alleged Burger Bar Boys member Gavin Parry was shot dead on April 13, 2021. Among them were a murderer, a violent gangster and two gunmen, according to court proceedings and police investigations.
Gavin Parry's Final Moments
Parry, 31, was captured on CCTV running to the City Industrial Estate wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying a Second World War-style STEN machine gun. He was shot in the head by another machine gun before he could open fire. The gunman who pulled the trigger of the Skorpion machine gun that killed Parry has not been identified.
Key Individuals Present
Theo Bailey, 34, who ran the family car repair business, 'took the lead' in preparing for Parry's return and knew someone inside was armed. He was convicted of manslaughter and jailed for 22 years. Michael Goodwin, present at the unit, had previously been involved in the drive-by shooting of Anthony Sargeant in 2018 and was sentenced to life with a minimum term of 28 years for that murder. Dante Kalsi was convicted of perverting the course of justice for removing Parry's STEN machine gun from the scene; the weapon has never been recovered.
Unsolved Mystery
Despite national headlines and a Crimewatch appeal, the reasons behind the killing remain unknown. The incident remains unsolved, with police continuing to appeal for information.
