Love Island's Curtis Pritchard Opens Up on Kyra 'Rebound' Claims and Future Plans
In an exclusive interview, Love Island All Stars contestant Curtis Pritchard has directly addressed swirling speculation that he used fellow islander Kyra Lizama as a "rebound" after his brief connection with Millie Court fizzled out. The reality TV star and professional boxer also provided a candid update on his current relationship status with Kyra, who lives thousands of miles away in Hawaii.
A Fourth Attempt at Villa Love
Curtis Pritchard returned to the Love Island villa for a remarkable fourth time during the All Stars series, determined to find a lasting romantic connection. While acknowledging the unconventional nature of the setting, he entered with optimism. His initial spark with Millie Court showed promise but ended abruptly when Millie requested to slow things down, soon after being captivated by American bombshell Zac Woodworth.
However, fate intervened with the arrival of another American bombshell, Kyra Lizama. Their chemistry was immediate and palpable, captivating viewers. Ultimately, the public voted Curtis and Kyra, along with Konnor Ewudzi and Imani Wheeler, as the least favourite couples, leading to their joint dumping from the villa.
Addressing the 'Rebound' Rumours Head-On
Since their exit, fans have intensely scrutinised the pair's dynamic, with many suggesting Kyra was merely a rebound for Curtis after his disappointment with Millie. Curtis did not shy away from these claims.
"Say what you want, I don't really care. That's what I'd say to most people to be honest," he stated firmly. He elaborated on the situation with Millie, explaining he needed absolute clarity that it was over for his own peace of mind before pursuing anything new.
"Whoever I got with next, people would say is a rebound so... it's a lose-lose situation and just a narrow-minded viewpoint from those saying it. So, that's my opinion," Curtis added, dismissing the narrative as simplistic.
Navigating a Long-Distance Connection
With Kyra back in Hawaii, the practical challenges of their connection are significant. Curtis revealed they have maintained contact via text message since leaving the show. He expressed hope for a reunion at the upcoming All Stars final, referencing a potential group catch-up event similar to previous years.
"I won't lie, she lives at the other end of the world. I'm not putting any pressure on it, she's not. We've both had chats and stuff, and we're still messaging and seeing what's what," he said, portraying a relaxed, no-pressure approach.
He also shared a concrete plan: Kyra has expressed interest in attending one of his upcoming boxing fights. "After that, I've got a little break so maybe I'll go over to Hawaii, I've never been," Curtis revealed, hinting at a potential trans-Pacific visit to explore their connection further on her home turf.
The future of "Curra" remains open-ended, with both parties taking things one step at a time amidst busy schedules and a vast geographical divide. Curtis's focus appears split between his boxing career and cautiously nurturing this new, long-distance villa connection.
