Great Glen Crematorium Hosts Mother's Day Memorial Event
Great Glen Crematorium, Natural Burial Ground & Memorial Gardens is extending a heartfelt invitation to individuals who are missing a mother or mother figure, as well as parents who have lost a child, to visit and honor their loved ones during the Mother's Day period. The crematorium will open the doors of its welcoming chapel on Sunday, March 15, from 10am to 12pm, providing a serene environment for reflection and remembrance.
During this special event, attendees will have the opportunity to write personal notes on tags, which can then be placed onto a memorial tree as a tribute. Additionally, visitors can compose personalised messages and tributes on cards, which can be deposited into the crematorium's white memorial post box throughout the Mother's Day period. This initiative aims to offer comfort and a sense of connection for those grieving.
Support from Westerleigh Group
Great Glen Crematorium is part of the Westerleigh Group, one of the largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries in the UK. With 42 sites across England, Scotland, and Wales, the group is trusted by more families than any other provider to deliver funeral services. All Westerleigh locations are set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance, designed to offer peaceful spaces for visitation and reflection, supported by exceptional care from dedicated teams.
Manager's Insight on Bereavement Support
Manager Marc Palmer shared his thoughts on the event, stating, "Over the Mother's Day period, we are holding in our thoughts all those missing their mother, a mother figure and mothers who are bereaved of a child. They are all very warmly welcome to join us for this special workshop and create a personal, beautiful bouquet in honour of their loved ones." He added, "We also know that the bereaved can take great comfort from posting messages to loved ones in our white memorial post box, which helps them maintain a feeling of connection with those they have lost."
Inclusive Invitation for All
The invitation is open to anyone wishing to remember their loved ones during Mother's Day, regardless of whether there is a memorial at the crematorium grounds or where the funeral took place. Whether the loss is recent or from years past, all are equally welcome. If individuals are near the crematorium around Mother's Day, they are encouraged to visit for a peaceful period of reflection and remembrance.
Marc Palmer further emphasized, "Mother's Day is one of those annual occasions when a loss can be felt more, and we want to ensure people know that they are very welcome to take comfort in paying tribute to their loved ones at our crematorium." This event underscores the crematorium's commitment to providing support and solace to the community during emotionally challenging times.
