Neighbors Criticize Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been branded "snobs" by residents of their upscale Montecito neighborhood in California, according to a report from NewsNation journalist Paula Froelich. Speaking on the Daily Expresso podcast, Froelich alleged that the couple is perceived negatively by fellow celebrities living nearby.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex purchased their home in the exclusive enclave in June 2020, five months after stepping down as senior working royals. Despite their high-profile status, Froelich claimed they have failed to integrate into the local community.
Allegations of Lack of Community Involvement
Froelich stated: "There's plenty of things for them to do to devote their life to service. But what are the reasons their neighbours can't stand them? Because they don't do anything for the community." She added that the couple is "constantly looking over [their] shoulder to find the bigger, better deal" and "will take people who they think can get them somewhere." The journalist concluded: "So frankly, they're just snobs."
Prince Harry's Upcoming UK Visit
Prince Harry is scheduled to visit Birmingham in July to mark the countdown to the Invictus Games. The trip, originally planned to include Meghan and their children Archie and Lilibet, has been thrown into uncertainty after reports that his request for taxpayer-funded police protection was denied. Sky News reported that Harry remains determined to find a safe way to bring his family to the UK this month, with his security team exploring options.
The Duke is due to carry out engagements from July 7 to July 11. According to The Sun, Harry also hopes to take his children to visit the grave of Diana, Princess of Wales at Althorp House in Northamptonshire, days after what would have been her 65th birthday.
