Love Island's Kavan responds to brother's Jasmine 'runs her mouth' comments
Kavan responds to brother's Jasmine comments

Love Island's Kavan Murphy has spoken out about remarks his older brother made about his girlfriend Jasmine Müller, saying that while opinions are valid, they are not always necessary to voice. The comments came during Tyrique Hyde's live stream, where Kavan's brother described Jasmine as not his "cup of tea" and accused her of "running her mouth" during arguments.

Kavan, who entered the villa as a bombshell in series 13, addressed the controversy during a visit to Capital HQ after leaving the villa. He admitted he had not directly seen the comments but had heard about them through family and friends, and insisted that the families have since come together harmoniously.

Kavan's response to the criticism

Speaking exclusively to Capital, Kavan said: "I've not seen what's been said. I've just heard through the grapevines and stuff. But yeah, since we've been out, it's been great. The families have all met. Everyone loves each other." He added: "And yeah, I think it's been good."

When asked whether his brother should have commented on Jasmine's behaviour based on what he saw on TV, Kavan acknowledged that viewers are entitled to their opinions. "Yeah. You got to think, when you're watching on screen, you have your opinions. Obviously, should he have said some things? Probably not," he said. "You can always have an opinion, but you don't always have to voice your opinion. But since coming out, it's, it's very happy families."

Jasmine's take on the family dynamic

Jasmine, who was coupled up with Kavan in the villa, agreed with his assessment. "Very much. And Priya's there," she said, referring to a fellow Islander. The couple's appearance at Capital HQ came as they played a game of 'Who Said That?', where they had to guess the origins of famous quotes.

The drama began early in the series when Kavan arrived as a bombshell, and his brother Aidan made no secret of his disapproval of Jasmine. However, Jasmine eventually won Aidan over, only to face criticism from the brothers' older sibling online.

Broader Love Island context

The couple's comments come amid a series of other Love Island stories, including Simba's brother paying tribute to their mother with the 'smiled bares' meme, Priya apologising for a "catty" comment about National Rail, and Ellie and Finley discussing how they will make long-distance work. Tommy Stagg also addressed rumours of a secret girlfriend, while Gabriel's unaired connection was revealed.

Kavan and Jasmine's appearance on Capital FM was part of a promotional interview, where they also discussed their time on the show. Listeners can catch up on the full interview via Global Player.
