Kyogo Furuhashi has expressed his gratitude to Birmingham City supporters for their backing “even when times were difficult,” following his departure to Major League Soccer side LA Galaxy. The Japanese striker leaves St. Andrew’s after a single season with the Blues, having scored just three goals in 31 appearances following a high-profile transfer from French club Rennes.

In an emotional Instagram post, Furuhashi wrote: “Thank you for everything - the crowd, the club, the city that made me feel at home from day one. Every match at St Andrew’s, every moment with the fans… even when times were difficult I felt your support. Time for a new chapter with LA Galaxy, but Birmingham will always be part of my story. Thank you.”
Details of the Transfer
Kyogo has agreed a contract with LA Galaxy that runs until 2031. The move marks a new chapter for the 30-year-old forward, who previously played for Celtic in Scotland and Vissel Kobe in Japan before his stint at Rennes.
