Two adorable kittens named after the iconic Lord of the Rings duo, Frodo and Samwise, are seeking forever homes in the West Midlands. The pair, who were rescued and are now in the care of a local animal shelter, are ready to be adopted by loving families.
Rescue and Care
The kittens, believed to be around eight weeks old, were brought to the RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre after being found in a garden. According to the centre, they were underweight and in need of care, but have since been thriving under the watchful eye of staff and volunteers.
Centre manager Lee Hopwood said: "They are two lovely kittens who have really come out of their shells since they arrived. They are very playful and love to be around people."
Names Inspired by Tolkien
The kittens were named by staff at the centre, who are fans of J.R.R. Tolkien's famous fantasy series. Frodo, a black and white kitten, and Samwise, a tabby, are said to be inseparable and would ideally like to be rehomed together.
Hopwood added: "They are a real double act and it would be wonderful if they could find a home together. They are both very affectionate and will make great companions."
Adoption Process
The RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre is now inviting applications from potential adopters. Those interested are encouraged to contact the centre directly to arrange a visit and meet Frodo and Samwise in person.
The centre is also reminding the public that adopting a pet is a long-term commitment, and they will be carrying out home checks to ensure the kittens go to a suitable environment. Anyone unable to adopt but wishing to help can donate to the centre or volunteer their time.
