Sarah Ferguson Spotted at Remote Irish Retreat After Epstein Files Release
The former Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, has reportedly been residing at a secluded wellness retreat in Donegal, Ireland, as she continues to keep a low profile in the aftermath of the Jeffrey Epstein document release. Ferguson has not been seen publicly since late September 2025, just before files were unsealed that indicated her association with the convicted paedophile was more extensive than previously acknowledged.
Seeking Solitude in Remote Locations
Speculation about Ferguson's whereabouts has been rampant, with earlier reports suggesting she had traveled to the United Arab Emirates and a Swiss wellness retreat since becoming embroiled in the scandal over five months ago. According to the Daily Mail, she has also spent time at the Ballyliffin Lodge and Spa in Donegal on Ireland's west coast, where room rates start from £113 per night.
A source close to the situation revealed, "Last time Sarah visited Donegal she spoke about how it was somewhere she could escape to when things were 'overwhelming' - and they can't ever have been more overwhelming for her than they have been in recent weeks." The source added that the location is very remote and discrete, minimizing the chance of her presence becoming widely known.
Historical Connections and Recent Absences
Ferguson had previously stayed at the Irish spa in 2024, sharing a TikTok clip from a local beach where she stated, "I find things get sometimes overwhelming, I just try and take myself off to the most beautiful, wonderful blast of fresh air." Her last public photograph was taken on 25 September 2025, as she was driven out of Royal Lodge in Windsor.
Notably, she has not been spotted at Sandringham since her ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, relocated there just prior to his arrest last week. One source suggested she wants to keep her distance from her former spouse during this tumultuous period.
Family Dynamics and Document Revelations
Earlier this week, Princess Eugenie was seen for the first time since her father's arrest, purchasing coffee in London. It is understood she had been on a Swiss skiing holiday when the arrest occurred. Her sister, Princess Beatrice, has not been spotted since Mountbatten-Windsor's detention.
The released Epstein files included email exchanges from 2011, where Ferguson appeared to write to Epstein, "I am at your service. Just marry me." In another message, she allegedly stated, "Don't know if you are still on this bbm but heard from The Duke that you have had a baby boy... I still am here with love, friendship and congratualtions (sic) on your baby boy. Sarah xx" followed by, "You have disappeared. I did not even know you were having a baby. It was soooo crystal clear to me that you were only friends with me to get to Andrew. And that really hurt me deeeply (sic). More than you will know."
As Ferguson navigates this challenging chapter, her retreat to remote locations like Donegal underscores her desire for privacy and solitude while she determines her next steps.
