West Midlands Police have launched an urgent search for a missing 54-year-old woman who was last seen in Birmingham city centre. Officers are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare as the search enters its second day.
Last Seen in Birmingham City Centre
Jayne, aged 54, was last spotted on Monday, 17 March, in the vicinity of Birmingham's busy shopping district. She is described as white, of slim build, with shoulder-length blonde hair. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a dark-coloured coat and carrying a handbag.
Police have not released a full surname, but have confirmed that Jayne is from the Birmingham area. Her family has been informed and is being supported by officers.
Police Appeal for Information
Inspector Mark Thompson, from West Midlands Police, said: “We are extremely concerned for Jayne’s safety and wellbeing. She has not been in contact with her family since Monday, which is completely out of character. We are urging anyone who has seen her or has any information about her whereabouts to come forward immediately.”
The force has deployed local patrols and is reviewing CCTV footage from the city centre. Officers are also speaking to businesses and members of the public who may have seen Jayne.
