Tana Ramsay has shared intimate details about a meaningful discussion she had with Adam Peaty's mother, Caroline Peaty, prior to the widely publicized family disagreement. The This Morning chef and spouse of Gordon Ramsay reflected on her initial encounter with Caroline, expressing high admiration for her now son-in-law.
Praise for Adam Peaty
In an interview with Grazia, Tana, aged 51, recounted telling Caroline, "My God, you've got the most amazing son. I couldn't think of anyone that is more perfect for Holly, who's incredibly emotional, incredibly vulnerable in areas." She described her daughter Holly, 26, as "funny, brilliant and witty" but noted she sometimes "needs keeping in line," a role she believed Adam handled effortlessly.
Family Tensions and Wedding Fallout
Holly and Adam married at Bath Abbey on December 27, 2025, in a cozy winter ceremony. However, Adam's mother did not attend the wedding, reportedly due to ongoing family strains. The rift reportedly began in 2024 when some of Adam's relatives were omitted from the guest list for the engagement party, and Caroline was excluded from Holly's hen celebration at Soho Farmhouse.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, Caroline expressed her anguish, stating, "I don't think they understand how much they have hurt me; it's as if they have cut my heart out. This is the first Christmas that I've not had my family together – my family is broken."
Gordon Ramsay's Response
Gordon Ramsay has addressed the tension, insisting that he and Tana "did nothing wrong." He described the fallout as "deeply upsetting," clarifying that reports of rudeness or ignorance were unfounded. "We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty," he said. "So to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously."
The celebrity chef, 59, added that he hopes to reconcile, saying, "I would like to go up to Nottingham with Tana and see them and draw a line in the sand. It was Adam and Holly’s wishes for them not to attend and so we had to respect that. There’s stuff they need to sort out as parents. That’s nothing to do with Tana and me."
He emphasized the desire to move forward, allowing Holly and Adam to build their life together without further conflict.
