Rekha Ghelani, 36 years old and eight months pregnant at the time of her arrest, told authorities she had been coerced into becoming a drug mule after falling into debt with dangerous criminals. The court heard harrowing details of how she felt she had "no choice" but to comply with their demands.

Ghelani's nightmare began when she boarded a flight from São Paulo, Brazil, to Heathrow Airport. Customs officers became suspicious during routine checks and discovered 3.5 kilograms of high-purity cocaine hidden within her luggage.
