Oliwia Wudarowicz, a 21-year-old drama graduate from the West Midlands, has waived her statutory right to anonymity to speak about the sexual abuse she suffered at the hands of Alexander Westwood, a former star of the Netflix series Sex Education. Westwood, 26, from Albrighton, Shropshire, was jailed for 15-and-a-half years in February 2025 for 26 sexual offences against Oliwia and four other victims.
Impact of the Abuse
Oliwia continues to experience symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder. She said: "I still scrub myself hard in the shower and have nightmares. If I have kids, my kids will be walking the same streets as him. He should be in prison rotting for much longer than his sentence."
How the Abuse Began
Oliwia began acting lessons with Westwood in December 2020 after her mother met him while renovating his flat. Initially excited, she attended her first session at his flat where they discussed his acting experience and her ambitions. By their third lesson, Westwood told her to change in front of him, claiming it was 'normal' backstage practice, and asked whether she was a virgin.
Oliwia said: "I didn't know what to do, I was scared because he was a male. I changed facing away from him, but could feel him watching."
Escalation of Abuse
In January 2021, Oliwia tried to avoid lessons by making herself vomit, but her mother encouraged her to attend. During that lesson, Westwood gave her a sexual scene to read and began kissing her. She said she 'froze' with fear. The following week, he ordered her to masturbate in front of him, telling her that because he was her teacher she 'had to do what he said'. Later that month, he raped her.
Oliwia recalled: "He said he'd teach me how to masturbate and then he started putting his hands down my pants. He then raped me – I wanted to scream because of the pain. I was frozen, with tears going down my face, and he put my hands by my side so I couldn't move or push him off. That's how I lost my virginity."
Westwood raped her four times in total, including an incident where he made her 'strip naked' before raping her again in February 2021.
Manipulation and Control
Westwood claimed Oliwia was bound by a contract requiring 365 lessons or a £36,000 payment, leaving her feeling unable to speak out. After she secured a college place in March 2021, he continued to contact her, threatening to complain about her 'lack of professionalism'.
Reporting and Investigation
Oliwia told her mother and police in August 2021 after a panic attack, but the case was initially closed due to a lack of evidence. She said this made her 'so angry'. The investigation reopened in April 2023 after other victims came forward. Oliwia said: "I felt guilty because if I had reported my experience with him earlier, it could have stopped him."
Other victims included a girl abused from age six, a boy aged nine to ten, a woman, and another teenage acting student. Prosecutor Andrew Wallace detailed years of 'normalisation of sexual abuse', including touching, making victims watch pornography, and a 'game' encouraging a young boy to touch himself.
Conviction and Sentencing
In February 2025, Judge Neil Chawla KC jailed Westwood for 15-and-a-half years, handed a 26-year restraining order, and a sexual harm prevention order. The judge said Westwood used his 'minor celebrity status to prey' on young girls, with lessons as a 'pretext for sexual abuse'.
Life After the Trial
Oliwia said discussions of rape during her drama degree have been triggering, leading to disordered eating and difficulty with romantic relationships. She often 'tenses up' during sex but now feels 'more confident' after sharing her story and body positivity on Instagram (@oliwiawudarowicz). She said: "I want to inspire other people to love themselves, and you have to learn to move forward." Oliwia has decided not to pursue acting, stating: "I don't want anything to do with it. He's ruined it for me forever."
