Birmingham's style scene received a dose of Hollywood glamour as a local performer was crowned the city's very own Tom Hardy. The exciting event was part of the launch celebration for the new flagship store of tailoring company King & Allen in the historic Jewellery Quarter.
A Night of Stars and Style
The contest, held on 7th November 2025, saw three impeccably dressed finalists compete for the coveted title. Aran, James, and Dave each took to the stage before a judging panel that included King & Allen founder and CEO, Jake Allen.
It was Aran, a seasoned performer and voice actor, who ultimately won over the judges. He appeared in a full Alfie Solomons outfit, complete with a pocket watch, cane, and the character's signature pork pie hat. Aran expressed his absolute delight at winning, especially against such strong competition, and noted that this was the first Tom Hardy competition he had ever entered.
The Runners-Up and the New Store
Runner-up James, who is regularly stopped in the street for his uncanny resemblance to the A-list star, impressed the judges with his signature Tom Hardy smoulder. However, it was Aran's performance and embodiment of his idol that truly captured the spirit of the evening.
Jake Allen, Founder and CEO of King & Allen, commented on the success of the night. "What a fantastic evening!" he said. "It was wonderful to welcome so many people from the local community to celebrate our new flagship store. The Tom Hardy competition added a fun, local element to the night and really captured the spirit of what we're about – celebrating individuality and style with a sense of joy and inclusivity."
He also highlighted the features of the ambitious new premises, which includes defined areas and a dedicated private consultation room, allowing the business to cater to individual needs or welcome entire families.
A Community Celebration
The lookalike contest served as a brilliant centrepiece for the store's opening, bringing together the local community for a unique and entertaining event. The evening successfully blended high fashion with popular culture, creating a memorable launch for King & Allen's new Birmingham home.
