Kirkham Volunteer Fair Aims to Build on St Annes Success on Jan 29
Kirkham Volunteer Fair: Find Your Role on Jan 29

Building on the momentum of a hugely popular previous event, Fylde residents are being invited to explore a world of rewarding community roles at an upcoming volunteer fair in Kirkham.

Event Details and Exciting Attendees

The free-to-attend gathering will take place at Kirkham Community Centre on Thursday, 29 January, running from 10am until 1pm. It promises to connect enthusiastic locals with a variety of inspiring organisations actively seeking new volunteers.

Confirmed attendees generating a buzz already include the vital North West Blood Bikes, the family support charity Home-Start, and Fylde Council's own Befriending Service. Visitors can look forward to complimentary tea, coffee, and cake while chatting with representatives in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, making it the perfect setting to ask questions and explore different roles.

Who is the Fair For?

This event is designed for anyone contemplating giving back to their local area. Whether you are recently retired and searching for a new sense of purpose, hoping to gain fresh skills and experiences, or simply feel a desire to contribute positively, there is likely an opportunity waiting for you. The fair aims to match individual interests and availability with the needs of the borough's vibrant voluntary sector.

Council's Commitment to Community Strength

This volunteer fair forms a key part of Fylde Council's ongoing commitment to strengthening local communities, with similar events planned at various venues across the borough throughout 2026. For anyone unable to attend the Kirkham date, a subsequent fair will offer another chance to get involved.

Councillor Chris Dixon, Lead Member for Social Wellbeing, commented: "November's volunteer fair in St Annes was a tremendous success, connecting dozens of residents with meaningful volunteering opportunities. We're thrilled to bring this event to Kirkham, making it even easier for people to discover how rewarding volunteering can be. Every volunteer makes our community stronger, and we're proud to celebrate and support their dedication."
