The popular Oysterman Triathlon is returning to Whitstable this summer, and organizers are seeking volunteers to ensure the event runs smoothly. The annual triathlon takes place on Sunday, August 23, at Tankerton Slopes, and Active Life, the community leisure trust behind the event, needs assistants to marshal and help keep participants safe.
Event Details
The triathlon attracts up to 300 participants each year and relies heavily on volunteers for its success. Volunteering offers a great way to support a local community event, meet new people, and gain event experience in a stunning coastal setting. Flexible hours are available to fit around individual availability.
Volunteer Benefits
All volunteers will receive free refreshments on the day, including breakfast, and will be offered a free gym and swim pass to use at any Active Life leisure centre.
Event coordinator Julio Barros, regional active communities manager at Active Life, commented: "The Oysterman Triathlon is one of the most exciting days of the year. It’s thrilling to watch as the competitors put all their training into practice and run, bike and swim their way through the course. Being part of the event is a great way to be part of the community and enjoy the day, and volunteers play a key role in making it all happen, so please do sign up and support the community."
Anyone wishing to sign up can visit the registration page. The event takes place in Whitstable, Kent.
