Knutsford Town Council is calling for volunteers to help clear a popular footpath as part of its commitment to improving active travel and accessibility. The council is seeking assistance to tidy up Sparrow Lane, where a build-up of detritus and overgrowth has narrowed the path, making it difficult for pedestrians, including those using wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Why Your Help Matters
Improving public footpaths enhances safety, increases accessibility for all users, and contributes to a better local environment. The Town Rangers regularly tackle such tasks, but for this particular job, extra hands are needed to make a visible difference.
What the Work Involves
Volunteers will help remove brambles, weeds, and dig out old dirt and leaves that have made the path harder to pass. All tools and gloves will be provided. The session offers a great opportunity to be outdoors, meet new people, and give back to the community.
Event Details
The clean-up will take place on Thursday, June 11, starting at 10 am. Those interested are asked to contact Jeanette Hine, corporate support manager, at jeanette.hine@knutsfordtowncouncil.gov.uk or call the council offices on 01565 653929.
Location: Knutsford, Cheshire.
