Barratt and David Wilson Homes Supports Local Youth Charity with Generous Donation
Epic Partners, a dedicated community organisation operating in the St Ann's and Sneinton areas, has received a substantial donation from Barratt and David Wilson Homes. This contribution is aimed at bolstering the charity's extensive work with children, young people, and families through a variety of engaging programmes.
Supporting Over 600 Young People Annually
Established more than ten years ago to tackle the shortage of accessible activities for youth, Epic Partners now serves more than 600 young people each year. The organisation provides after-school clubs, holiday programmes, and targeted support designed to help individuals build essential life skills, raise their aspirations, and feel integrated into a safe and inclusive community environment.
The charity operates bustling youth hubs that attract over 100 weekly visits, with demand consistently on the rise. These hubs serve as vital spaces where young people can participate in sports, receive mentoring, and engage in group activities that foster personal development and community cohesion.
Donation from The Barratt Redrow Foundation
The donation from Barratt and David Wilson Homes was made through The Barratt Redrow Foundation, an initiative created to support both national and local charities across the United Kingdom. The foundation's mission is to leave a lasting legacy in the communities where the housebuilder operates, focusing on organisations that make a tangible difference in people's lives.
Peter Bewley, CEO of Epic Partners, expressed his delight at the donation, stating: "We were genuinely delighted when Barratt and David Wilson Homes got in touch about the donation. It's always uplifting to know that local businesses recognise the value of our work and want to invest in the young people we serve. Moments like this remind us that the wider community is behind us."
He further explained the impact of such contributions: "Donations like this help us maintain high-quality provision, respond to growing demand, and ensure no young person is turned away due to lack of resources. Funding gaps are a reality for small community organisations, so support like this helps us stay resilient and continue delivering vital activities week in, week out."
Bewley added: "We would like to say an EPIC thank you to Barratt and David Wilson Homes. This generosity helps us continue creating safe spaces, positive experiences and brighter futures for young people in our community. We truly appreciate your support and belief in our work."
Commitment to Community Strengthening
Mark Cotes, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes North Midlands, commented on the company's commitment to supporting local initiatives. He said: "We're proud to support Epic Partners with this donation. Its work in creating safe, positive spaces for people is vital, and we're committed to helping strengthen the communities where we build homes."
This donation underscores the importance of corporate-community partnerships in addressing social needs and enhancing the well-being of young people in urban areas like St Ann's and Sneinton.
