Merry Hill to host UK-first Bodycare Studio concept store this summer
Merry Hill gets UK-first Bodycare Studio concept store

Hoarding has gone up at Merry Hill shopping centre for a new Bodycare Studio store, marking the brand's return after it went into administration last year. The new concept, a UK first, will open this summer in a 3,000 sq ft space featuring a TikTok studio and a piercing studio, alongside an extensive range of beauty products.

The Bodycare Studio format includes demonstration zones and interactive experiences. This is part of a relaunch after the brand was purchased by a new entity led by former executives of The Body Shop. Bodycare went into administration in September 2025, leading to the closure of all its high street stores. The new owners have reopened 25 stores under the Studio format, with 19 more planned by the end of 2026, and a long-term ambition for over 200 stores nationwide.

Merry Hill's recent additions

Jonathan Poole, centre manager of Merry Hill, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Bodycare back to Merry Hill this summer. As one of the first locations in the UK to showcase the brand’s new store concept, visitors can look forward to an exciting 3000sq. ft space, complete with a TikTok studio, piercing studio, and an extensive range of beauty products.”

Bodycare joins recent arrivals including MINISO, Ben & Jerry’s, and Carnival Golf & Games. Over the past 12 months, brands such as M&S, EE, and Goldsmiths have invested in existing stores, and Superdrug is expanding. Poole added: “Together, these new additions reflect our continued commitment to giving visitors even more reasons to choose Merry Hill, and there’s never been a better time to visit.”

Impact on local retail

The return of Bodycare signals a revival for the brand and adds to the growing mix of retail and leisure options at Merry Hill. The centre continues to attract investment, with new concepts and expansions enhancing its offer for shoppers.
