Tim Scott-Wright, owner of The Hair Surgery salon in Wollaston, Stourbridge, has been named Professional Blonde Specialist of the Year at the 2026 Pro Hair Awards. The ceremony took place on Monday, September 7, at STEREO in Covent Garden, London, and is considered one of the most prestigious events in the hairdressing industry.
Award recognition built on local clientele
Speaking after the win, Tim said: "To be recognised as the UK's top blonde specialist means the world, especially knowing it's built on years of work with clients right here in Stourbridge." He added: "This town has watched me grow as a hairdresser, and every award I bring home is really for them, the people who sit in my chair and trust me with their hair week after week."
The award reflects a career spanning 18 years, during which Tim trained with two nationally renowned salon brands before opening The Hair Surgery in 2014. His previous accolades include induction into the Hairdressing Hall of Fame after winning Midlands Hairdresser of the Year three times in a row from 2005.
Salon's signature technique drives business
Tim is known for his "lived-in" blonde colouring technique, which delivers a natural, low-maintenance look. This method has become central to his education work with Schwarzkopf Professional and now accounts for nearly half of the salon's business. The salon has also earned titles such as Hair Magazine's Regional Salon of the Year and Creative Salon of the Year at the Salon Business Awards.
The Hair Surgery team includes stylists Liz, Rosie and Darren, who work alongside Tim to offer cutting, colouring and blonde specialist services. The salon continues to serve clients in the Stourbridge area, with the latest national award adding to its growing list of industry honours.
