Dalton Mills, a 150-year-old textile mill in Keighley that served as a filming location for Peaky Blinders and Downton Abbey, is currently engulfed in a large fire. Emergency services were called to the site on Dalton Lane at approximately 8pm on Saturday, with 12 fire engines dispatched to combat the blaze.
Emergency Response and Road Closures
West Yorkshire Police and multiple crews from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are working to bring the incident under control. Dalton Lane has been shut to all traffic, with cordons and road closures established in the area.
In a Facebook post, West Yorkshire Police stated: "Please be aware that Dalton Mills are currently on fire. Dalton Lane in Keighley is currently closed to all traffic, as our colleagues from West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service are working to bring the situation under control."
History of Fires at the Site
Reports indicate the mill has been affected by several fires over the past four years. In March 2022, over 100 firefighters were deployed to tackle a blaze at the site. A further significant fire broke out in July 2025, with 12 fire engines dispatched to the scene. The site also endured a serious fire in 2011.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service released a statement confirming: "At approximately 8:00pm, we were called to a large fire involving Dalton Mills, Keighley. We currently have 12 fire engines at the incident as firefighters continue to tackle the large incident."
The statement added: "Please avoid the area while emergency crews work at the scene. Residents nearby are advised to keep their windows and doors closed until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation. Further incident updates to follow."
