Brindleyplace Record & Makers Market Returns with Vinyl and Crafts

Brindleyplace is set to host a free Record and Makers Market on Saturday, August 29, from 9am to 4pm in Central Square. The event, created in collaboration with Midlands Record Fairs and Blue Moon Markets, will feature 12 stalls offering a wide range of music for collectors and vinyl enthusiasts, alongside artwork and gifts from local independent makers.

Market Details and Offerings

According to a spokesman for Brindleyplace, the market "blends the best of vinyl culture with arts and crafts." Visitors can expect to discover great music, meet passionate traders, and explore a mix of creative, handcrafted pieces. The event is free to attend and is part of a series of markets planned for the venue.

In addition to the Record and Makers Market, an Artisan Market will take place on Thursday, August 27, offering fresh breads, cakes, sauces, drinks, and unique gifts such as paintings, prints, ceramics, and skincare products.

Fountain Maintenance and Other Events

For those who have noticed the fountain at Brindleyplace is closed and barriered off, the closure is due to cleaning and maintenance. The fountain is scheduled to be refilled on Wednesday, August 19.

Other events at Brindleyplace include the Ikon Gallery's Family Saturday, held on the first Saturday of every month. This hands-on workshop, open to all ages, is inspired by current exhibitions and operates on a drop-in basis.

Upcoming September Markets

The markets will continue into September, with the Artisan Market scheduled for Thursday, September 24, and the Records and Makers Market on Saturday, September 26. These events are part of ongoing efforts to bring cultural and creative activities to the Brindleyplace area.
