Glastonbury Festival co-organiser Emily Eavis has confirmed that three headliners have been secured for the 2027 event at Worthy Farm, while explicitly denying rumours that Madonna or Taylor Swift will be among them. Speaking on BBC Radio 4’s PM programme on Friday, Eavis said: “No, it’s definitely not Madonna, I’ll tell you that. But we have got three headliners and we’re very excited about it – it’s all coming together really well.”
Rumours Dismissed by Eavis
Eavis also rejected the idea that Taylor Swift could headline, and then refused to discuss performers further. She quipped: “Pretty much 95 per cent of the stories [about Glastonbury] you read are not true, and rumours are pretty much always wrong. But the good news is that we’ve got our headliners and we’re cracking on, and we just can’t wait to get back.”
The festival is taking a fallow year in 2026, a periodic break that allows the dairy farm on which the festival sits to recover. The last fallow year was 2018, prior to enforced breaks in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speculation Continues Among Fans
Despite Eavis’s denials, fans continue to speculate on potential acts. Names rumoured include Bad Bunny, Jay-Z, Sabrina Carpenter, Charlie XCX, The Rolling Stones, Oasis, Sam Fender, and Harry Styles. However, none of these have been confirmed by organisers.
The 2027 Glastonbury Festival will take place from Wednesday, June 23, until Sunday, June 27. It will be the fortieth event in the festival’s history.
Past Headliners and Festival Legacy
In 2025, the main Pyramid Stage headliners were The 1975 on Friday, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts on Saturday, and Olivia Rodrigo on Sunday. Rod Stewart also performed the traditional Sunday afternoon Legends slot. The festival’s return in 2027 marks a significant milestone as it celebrates its fortieth edition.
