The legendary Blackpool Tower Ballroom is set for an unforgettable Sunday night as four former Strictly Come Dancing finalists make a spectacular return to the famous sprung floor.
Who's Making a Comeback?
The stars confirmed for this special results show appearance on Sunday, November 23 include actor Layton Williams (2023 finalist), Ashley Roberts from the Pussycat Dolls (2018 finalist), Jay McGuiness of The Wanted (2015 champion), and Danny Mac from Hollyoaks (2016 finalist).
Roberts, 44, expressed her excitement about returning after seven years, stating: "It’s been seven years since I did Strictly and I can’t believe I’m now back. Blackpool is the marker, right? Everybody wants to get there. It’s truly legendary and iconic."
Flashbacks and Pre-Show Nerves
The returning professionals shared mixed emotions about their comeback. McGuiness, 35, admitted to experiencing familiar pre-show anxiety, saying: "I feel I am having flashbacks to pre-show anxiety. Like, who gets the chance to come back to Strictly? It’s very, very rare."
Williams, 31, added his enthusiasm: "I’m so gassed to be back. I never thought I’d dance at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom ever again, so to be invited back is an honour."
Mac, 37, revealed his most prevalent emotion was feeling "quite physically sick" but acknowledged the gratitude and joy of returning to the iconic venue.
What to Expect from the Special Show
The former contestants will revisit their best-known Strictly moments before uniting for a special group routine during the results show. The programme will also feature performances from singer Lewis Capaldi and pop group Steps, accompanied by Strictly's professional dancers.
Additionally, viewers can look forward to the first collaboration between the Strictly professionals and award-winning dance troupe Diversity, blending hip hop with Hollywood styles. Singer Olly Murs will also perform during the weekend's festivities.
The main Strictly Come Dancing show airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 6.30pm on Saturday, November 22, with the results show featuring the returning stars following on Sunday.
