The glitterball trophy dream is over for Vicky Pattison, who became the seventh celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing 2025 during a nail-biting Week 8 results show.
The former Geordie Shore star and her professional partner Kai Widdrington found themselves in the dreaded dance-off against actress Balvinder Sopal and her partner Julian on Sunday, 16th November. With a coveted trip to Blackpool Tower just one week away, the stakes could not have been higher.
The Leaderboard and the Looming Dance-Off
Week eight of the competition saw the remaining couples perform without a specific theme, dancing to a diverse range of music. The judges' scores created a tight leaderboard, with three celebrities separated by just two points at the bottom.
The final leaderboard before the public vote was as follows:
- Amber and Nikita - 38
- Lewis and Katya - 37
- Alex and Johannes - 35
- La Voix and Aljaž - 33
- Karen and Carlos - 31
- George and Alexis - 29
- Vicky and Kai - 27
- Balvinder and Julian - 27
Once the public votes were combined with the judges' scores, the two couples at the bottom of the overall ranking were forced to dance again for survival.
A Unanimous Decision Seals the Fate
For Balvinder Sopal, this marked her fourth time in the bottom two, having survived the dance-off on three previous occasions. For Vicky Pattison, however, it was her first time facing elimination in this manner.
After both couples performed their routines once more, the judges delivered their verdict. Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke all chose to save Balvinder and Julian.
This series, the casting vote rotates among the judges, and for week eight, it was held by Craig Revel Horwood. His vote was not needed, but he confirmed he would have also saved Balvinder, making the decision unanimous.
Vicky Pattison's Gracious Exit
Following the announcement, Vicky Pattison gave a heartfelt speech. She expressed her gratitude for the entire experience, stating, "It was so lovely while it lasted and I've had the nicest time. I knew this week was a difficult one for me and I tried my hardest, as I have every week."
She paid a special tribute to her professional partner, saying, "I don't want to sound too cheesy but (to Kai) you've been the best partner a girl can ask for. I'm so sorry I didn't get you to Blackpool but I feel like I've won just by having you as my partner and I'm so grateful."
The competition now moves forward to the iconic Blackpool Tower ballroom, with seven couples remaining and the fight for the Glitterball Trophy intensifying.
