New Attractions Across the Region
The Black Country Living Museum in Dudley has opened a new 1950s cinema, complete with original films and a traditional sweet shop. Meanwhile, Birmingham's Thinktank Science Museum now features a Victorian pharmacy where visitors can mix potions using historical methods. The Edwardian dental surgery at the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter allows guests to experience early 20th-century dentistry.
Boosting Local Tourism
These additions are part of a wider effort to attract more tourists to the West Midlands. According to Visit Birmingham, the region saw a 15% increase in visitor numbers in 2023 compared to the previous year. The new experiences are expected to further boost tourism, with local businesses anticipating higher footfall.
