The actress, who plays Cassie Plummer in the ITV serial, took to her Instagram to post heart-warming pictures of herself with Jessie Wallace, renowned for her role as Kat Slater in Albert Square.

The snaps were captured at DJ Fat Tony's 60th birthday bash, held at Soho Mews House in London earlier this week.

Claire captioned the images, "Corrie-enders..... the crossover nobody expected. Mates for over 20 years. Love you @jessie.wallace_official you make me laugh so much."

Claire Sweeney is no stranger to the world of soaps. She first shot to fame playing Lindsey Corkhill in Brookside, the iconic Channel 4 drama.

She joined the Liverpool-based show in 1991, becoming a leading character by 1995, and remained until the programme's final episode aired in November 2003.

Since her Brookside days, Claire has presented various TV programmes, starred in stage musicals, and appeared on reality shows including Celebrity Big Brother and Dancing on Ice.

She joined the cast of Coronation Street in 2023 as the long-lost mother of Tyrone Dobbs and estranged daughter of Evelyn Plummer.
