Kelly Osbourne Speaks Out Against Critics Following Brit Awards Appearance
Kelly Osbourne has issued a strong statement against individuals who have 'kicked her while she's down' and 'doubted her pain' following her recent appearance at The Brit Awards. The 41-year-old mother-of-one took to Instagram to share a lengthy post where she vowed not to allow herself to be 'dehumanised' by such behaviour.
Emotional Tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at The Brit Awards
Kelly attended the prestigious awards ceremony in Manchester to accept a special Lifetime Achievement award on behalf of her late father, legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy passed away at the age of 76 in July last year, just two weeks after he stunned crowds at a farewell concert held at Villa Park.
During the ceremony, Kelly collected the award alongside her mother, Sharon Osbourne. Following an emotional speech, she cheekily added: "I hope I don't disrespect Manchester by saying this, but up the Villa and Birmingham forever!" Ozzy was also honoured during the event with members of his band performing alongside Robbie Williams for a rendition of No More Tears.
Powerful Social Media Statement
Within hours of the ceremony concluding, Kelly shared a heartfelt message on her social media platforms, directly addressing those who had 'turned their back when she needed love and support most.'
In her post, she wrote: "There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most. None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character."
She continued: "I'm currently going through the hardest time in my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won't sit here and allow myself to be dehumanised in such a way."
Context of Previous Online Criticism
While it remains unclear what specific incident Kelly was referring to in her latest post, she has previously used social media to confront trolls who have made cruel comments about her appearance. On one occasion, she shared an unsavoury comment with her followers, stating: "Literally can't believe how disgusting some human beings are! No one deserves this sort of abuse!"
Kelly's powerful statement highlights the ongoing challenges public figures face with online criticism, particularly during periods of personal grief and hardship. Her words serve as a reminder of the importance of compassion and support, especially when individuals are navigating difficult life circumstances.
