Radio and television presenter Kemi Rodgers has announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend Thomas Hannett, who proposed during their recent trip to Australia.
Sunshine Proposal Down Under
The 30-year-old host of ITV's I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked companion show shared the joyful news on her Instagram over the weekend. She posted a series of photographs celebrating the milestone, including a close-up of her engagement ring and snaps of the couple enjoying their time in Australia.
Kemi was in Australia for the entire duration of the latest I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! series, which aired from 19 November to 7 December. Her spin-off show, Unpacked, which she co-hosts with Joel Dommett, followed the main action from the jungle camp.
A Year-Long Romance Goes Public
The engagement comes just weeks after Kemi revealed she and Thomas had been dating for over a year. The couple chose to keep their relationship private before making their official public debut as a couple in September 2025.
They first appeared together on social media during a romantic getaway to Paris. In a playful video posted to Instagram, the pair used a popular TikTok audio clip, with Thomas miming the question "Are you happy to be in Paris?" and Kemi responding "Oui."
Thomas Hannett holds a senior producer role at Capital FM, where Kemi also works as a presenter. Their colleagues were among the first to celebrate the news online.
Celebrity Well-Wishes Flood In
Friends and famous faces quickly filled the comments section of Kemi's engagement post with congratulations. Coronation Street actor Colson Smith wrote a simple "Congratulations Kemi!", while Capital FM star and This Morning host Sian Welby exclaimed, "OMGGGG INCREDIBLE."
Former X Factor contestant Sam Lavery and Capital presenter Jordan North also shared their delight, with North commenting, "OMG! Congratulations guys."
Kemi's caption for the engagement announcement was succinct and heartfelt: "I said yes." The couple have not yet revealed any details about their wedding plans.
Kemi Rodgers rose to wider prominence last year when she teamed up with Sam Thompson and Joel Dommett to present I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked. The show was launched as a new digital spin-off four years after the long-running companion show Extra Camp was cancelled.
