A new ladies choir is launching in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, to help local women improve their wellbeing and make new friends. The community singing group, Love Pop Choir, will offer free introductory sessions featuring pop hits and musical theatre anthems.
Launch Event with Prosecco and No Experience Needed
Organisers are hosting a special prosecco launch evening to welcome new members of all ages and abilities. Participants do not need any previous musical experience, as there are no auditions, solos, or requirements to read sheet music. The weekly sessions aim to provide a supportive environment where residents can take time out from their busy routines. Every new attendee can claim a complimentary glass of prosecco or fruit juice during the opening night.
The launch event takes place at Forest Moor and Calcutt village hall from 7.30pm to 9pm. Members will sing along to a varied repertoire ranging from iconic 1980s pop tracks to current chart hits.
Love Pop Choir Expands to Knaresborough
Love Pop Choir already operates six other successful groups across Yorkshire. The new Knaresborough branch will run weekly sessions on Monday evenings during school term times. Choir director, Lauren Elliott, said: “Love Pop Choir is all about enjoying singing together, having fun and taking some 'me time' from our busy lives. It doesn't matter if you come alone or with friends, everyone gets on and sessions are very easy and relaxed.”
She added: “Come and discover why so many women think Love Pop Choir is the best night of the week!”
