A full list of 17 Wetherspoon pubs in the UK that will not show any World Cup matches this summer has been released. The pub chain is screening games across nearly all venues, but these select locations will not broadcast a single minute of the tournament.
Wetherspoons stated on its website: "Wetherspoon’s pubs will be showing the World Cup. So, wherever your local is, you won’t miss out on the events in the world’s biggest football event. Find a pub. Enjoy the World Cup with a selection of international drinks, many hailing from the same countries as the teams competing. Why not try something different?"
The tournament kicks off on Thursday, June 11, and runs until Sunday, July 19, with the pub chain offering screenings of all matches at most locations.

World Cup 2026 Broadcast Details
The FIFA World Cup 2026 starts on Thursday, 11 June 2026, with 104 games played across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. A total of 54 matches will be shown live on the BBC, including the final on Sunday, 19 July. World Cup fixtures and scores can be found on the BBC Sport page titled FIFA World Cup Scores & Fixtures. Additionally, 92 games will be available on BBC Sounds, and every match will be covered on the BBC Sport website and app. BBC Sport is providing World Cup coverage across YouTube, TikTok, and social channels.
