Stapleford's Friday18: Free Live Music Nights Warm Up Winter Pubs
Free Friday music nights launch in Stapleford pubs

The Nottinghamshire town of Stapleford is preparing to beat the winter blues with a vibrant programme of free Friday night entertainment. Friday18, a successful series of live music events, is launching a special winter edition across the town's pubs and clubs.

Weekly Line-Up of Local Talent

The festivities commence on Friday, January 30 and will run every week until Friday, March 6. Each event starts at 6pm, offering an hour of live performance to provide the perfect start to the weekend. The schedule is packed with diverse musical acts:

  • January 30: SPAM kicks things off at Larry's Bar with a set of high-energy punk, new wave, and classic hits.
  • February 6: Verbal Warning takes to the stage at The Old Cross.
  • February 13: James Stevens performs at the Stapleford and Bramcote Conservative Club.
  • February 20: Trevor Pringle entertains at The Midland Hotel.
  • February 27: Ben Mark Smith plays at The Lead & Dot Micropub.
  • March 6: Joshua Todd closes the series at the West End Club.

Community Spirit and Council Support

Councillor Teresa Cullen, Portfolio Holder for Health and Leisure, expressed her enthusiasm for bringing the event to Stapleford. "Friday18 has been a brilliant event in Beeston and Kimberley, giving residents a chance to enjoy free live music," she said. "The Stapleford winter edition lets people escape the cold, enjoy lively entertainment and support our fantastic local pubs."

The initiative is more than just a music series; it's a community-building exercise with international roots. Friday18 forms part of the Council's C-City partnership with the German town of Gutersloh, a scheme designed to celebrate shared culture, music, and community connections.

A Warm Welcome for Locals and Visitors

This series offers a dual benefit for Stapleford. It provides residents with a regular, cost-free social highlight during the colder months, while also driving footfall to the town's local pubs and hospitality venues. The council hopes the events will foster a stronger sense of community and provide a platform for local musical talent.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to wrap up warm and explore the different venues each Friday. With no ticket required, it's an accessible way to experience live performance, discover new favourite artists, and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Stapleford's social spots.
